Privacy Policy
Last updated 30 October 2026
Draft for the FloatyCal private beta. This policy will be reviewed by a lawyer before FloatyCal is offered to the public.
FloatyCal ("we", "us") is a calendar and assistant app for desktop and mobile. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name and email address, which come from the sign-in method you choose (Google, Microsoft or email).
- Device information: the name and type of the device you sign in on, so you can see and sign out of your devices.
- Calendar and email data, only if you connect an account: events, attendees and messages needed to show your schedule, remind you of meetings and carry out tasks you ask for.
- Settings and assistant memory: your preferences and things you ask the assistant to remember. You can see and delete these in the app.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and, only if you opt in, anonymous usage statistics. These never include your calendar or email content.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To show your calendars and email and to send reminders.
- To do what you ask the assistant to do. Anything that affects other people, such as sending an email or moving a meeting, is shown to you first and only happens when you approve it.
- To fix problems and improve FloatyCal.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or use your calendar or email content to train artificial intelligence models.
Information from Google
FloatyCal's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Artificial intelligence
When you use the assistant, the text needed for your request is sent to our AI provider to produce a response. We use providers that do not keep this data or use it for training.
Files you share
Documents attached to meeting requests stay in your own cloud storage or mailbox. FloatyCal shares links to them and does not store the files on its servers.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run FloatyCal, under contracts that limit how they may use your information:
- WorkOS, for sign-in.
- Neon, for our database and servers.
- Our AI provider (Anthropic, through Vercel), for assistant requests.
- When calendar and email connections arrive: our calendar and email sync provider.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.
Security and storage
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. On your devices, your sign-in is stored using your operating system's own encrypted storage. Our servers are currently located in the United States.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time by emailing the address below; we will do so within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your information, and to object to certain uses. Email us and we will help.
Children
FloatyCal is not intended for anyone under 16.
Changes
If we make important changes to this policy, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
